Odd? I wonder why it would eat all that sand?
Sorry for the late response. Mine never ended up being the most prolific eating like most endli's would be, however, he seemed to be doing okay. Came home from work and saw him on the bottom. After netting him out, I noticed that his throat section bulging. I forced open his mouth to find it as well as his gills packed to the brim with sand. He is now in the freezer and an autopsy will be done later. Thanks all.
Sorry for your loss
I wonder if it's possible that when Bichirs bury their heads, if it's possible for sand and/or gravel to get packed into it's gills and it basically sufficates![]()
Sorry to hear Kevin and Mike that you guys lost the new endlis.
Did you medicate them at all? It is a good idea to treat all WC fish with anti parasitic meds shortly after they settle in and have had a few meals, but I admit I don't always do it.
