alot of people in commercials were movie actors/actresses first staring in popular movies or tv shows. some just choose to participate predominantly in commercials aswell. and bill mays was VERY well known for being over enthusiastic about near pyramid quality products like oxy clean with absolutely no scientific proof to back their effectiveness and such.
not everybody in commercials is a celeberty...

Ya... dude.. i saw that just now.. He's the same age as Micheal Jackson... man.. that sucks.. we lost 3 famous people in one week... well i guess.. people die each day.. but still.. life's too short.... 
RIP Billy Mays. I watched his commercial for a month when I was in the US. I was so shocked he died. I just watched him on TMZ a few days ago.
