RIP Channel Cat :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not to sound like a d!ck but im pretty certain that no cat will go on hunger strike and starve to death because of it, the hunger always wins out, i am fairly certain there was more to the death than that. just be on alert for your other cats to show any signs of anything wrong.

imo there is something wrong with what your testing with and i still think there is something going on with the tank, personally i would do a large water change everyday for the next 3-5 days, get an api dropper master test kit (i have personally had good luck with mine thats why i recommend it) and test the water daily. you had your tank up for 3 months but added all fish at once 2 weeks before the problem started, that is a big jump in bio load all at once.

Sorry guys about your channel cat losses.

I wonder what makes them jump out and what makes them anorexic :(

Sometimes when he would swim really fast around the top of the pond really close to the surface and I left the lid off I'm thinking he just flopped out on accident. He was a good 15' away from the pond when I got home and completely dry. I put my hand In his mouth to pick him up and he gave me a nip so I put him back in the pond and he started breathing and did so for about a hr before he died :(. He was a tough cat and I'll miss him

I will try and get one of those test kits like you said, and yeah I also agree that something is going on all the other cats are eating and look fin, I mean there is still the occasional nipped fin from the Upsidedown cats, but other than that they seem fine. I will be doing a 75% w/c today, and a few 50% the next couple days, hopefully the problem clears up.
