Sorry for your lost bro! Juveniles bichirs are more of a big eater than adult bichirs. Although adult bichirs eat a lot, but their metabolism is not as fast as the juveniles. I used to have a 7" endli and ate a smaller endli that was 4". I also have some 18"-20"+ endli that won't even bother my 9" albino sene.

I had a longfin albino senegalus fly in from wherever Li lives, next day his tail was sticking out of an endli's mouth also only about 2 inches bigger.
Sorry for your loss. I recently lost a huge Imperial ID. It hurts. I am looking for an endi. Might have one this weekend. I dont think I will have your problem. The Endi will be the smallest thing in the pond. Other fish will be at min a foot bigger and then some.
