He was TL probably 3". Normal size.
I juggled him around plenty when he was young, but after a few years I discovered they are fragile so he spent the rest of his life in my 55g semi-aggressive community. I don't think any other fish ever saw him as a fish. He had free reign of the tank, even when aggressive territorial fish were brooding. Looking like a brown stick is advantageous for sure.

With him being almost completely armored, watching for obesity was a joke. He always looked exactly the same unless he got a little thin. Then I'd up the lighting and he'd get back to normal.
