RIP my big girl......

Thanks guys for your kind words....she really was up there, definitely one of my favourites, she survived quite a few of my early fishkeeping blunders, and made me proud the way she grew and flourished. I've never had a fish commit suicide before, which to all intensive purposes is what she did, grieving for her mate, I just hope he's waiting for her, it helps to think he is....boy O's can be stubborn fish. I suppose that's what makes them so popular, their highly developed personalities and individuality. I only wish they had actually managed to produce some fry. She laid eggs a couple of times but all got eaten before they hatched. I suppose 7 years in't too bad a life for a captive fish......still feel like crap tho.....time will heal I suppose.
Buried her in the garden next to her hubby I owed her that at least.....
The second male I got her is looking seriously lost without her...he is young though....he'll get over her.....

Sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. Some of my friends make fun of me because of my love for my fish. I always tell them it's no different than a dog or cat. They just live in a glass box of water.

awww, although a sad post, very heartwarming.
