Well.....it's been about a week.... Water pameters were good the female flowerhorn was eating all was fine...but my male began to eat less and less this past month. I treated the tank with salt and raised the temp....nothing helped...as he ate less and less he could not stay upright.... I have had him for 5 years and got him second hand from someone who kept him in a 10 gallon.....He lived out his life with me in a 75 gallon.... Anyways he passed this morning and was one of the oldest fish I had at the moment. He was truely a great pet....he will be missed.

That paper plate is around 12 inches in diameter

Sorry for the loss.

He lived a long life in flowerhorn years. You did a great job. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my 17yr old rhom on Sunday and it's painful even though it's just "a fish".

Well the lifespan can be 10 years or so BUT flowerhorn have a pre dispositioned genetic disadvantage some don't have the best of genes....so I'm not sure what the actual life span is....but I took care of him as best I could.....And I'm sorry about your rhom...even though they are fish we get attached to the personality of these fish.....they almost get to be like our dogs in water..

Once you've cared for a living creature for almost two decades its gonna be hard regardless of what animal it is/ Many of these fish have strong personalities and it's easy to feel a bond with them. I'm sorry you lost your buddy.
