It is very awkward feeling. My tank was in a room that we did not sit in often but always walk past. My rhom was extremely interactive and would watch you while swimming and come out to you. It is a sad feeling to walk into the room and just see an empty tank now. Even my wife made a comment about how she used to go through the room and would watch for him or make a comment to him and now she just sees the empty tank
Sorry for the loss man replaceing a fish you have come to love and enjoy is damn near impossible.
Has been a couple months now and my wife still mentions that she misses my Dempsey coming to see her when she walked in our room (tank is just to the right of the door).
Nnzafi I am in the same sort of situation....my tank that had Zeus was in my bedroom and I saw him literally several times a day. He was always there to greet me and did a sort of series of barrel rolls when it was food time....very entertaing to watch....now that the tank is empty I am already searching for a new "wet pet" I have several fish but not all of them have the same personality or energy as a wet pet would have....so I have since decided instead of leaving my tank run empty I am either getting a MBU or a fahaka puffer.....I am leaning towards fahaka due to availability and not as much demand when it comes to tank size. I have heard they are very interactive and unlike any other fish when it comes to recognizing and acknowledging its owner. They also live veey long and are just an all out unique different fish. So I figure I would give them a try.
I've heard phenomenal things about fahaka puffers and fire eels. Fire eels are suppose to be amazing. I am going with an aimara just because I think I need something that is very hardy and I like aggressive fish. In the end it will come down to personality of the individual fish.
