i am very sorry to see this baby that is lost.. sorry for your pain... from now on spread the word as i do how they jump.. all holes no matter how small should be taped and later a cover with a heavy weight should be placed on top.. that was a beautiful baby..
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. A lost aro is a very sad day!!!

I not to long ago lost one of my very favorite silver aro's. I had him since he was a juvie, by the time he was pushing 15" he had been on the floor 4 times. He could get spooked and just blast right through the little front feeding glass doors on the front of the hood. Then he went to a 125g, then a 220g, with no problems then, a 265g and everything was good.
On this tank I have atleast 14 lrg water containers on top of the lid's. Well he got spooked and knocked off 4 containers and pushed up a plastic piece covering the lid that was only as wide as his head. His head was around 2"wide, and he was around 28"long. I found him on the floor and walked him in the tank for a very long time, he was fine for two day's, but didn't make it.
Moral of the story is, you can never be to carefull with aro's. They are a wonderfull fish and I will never be without one. When you are ready I hope you get another and truly enjoy how fun and cool they are to keep. Just make sure you keep the tank very, very, very, tightly covered. When they get spooked, they tend to jump.
