Exact thing you explained happened to my old 14 inch Ntt about 5 yrs
ago.

Happened quickly over 3 or 4 days. The last day it was also swimming into the glass and loosing balance whilst trying to swim

I think they prefer more brackish water conditions when they get bigger. Did you have him in full freshwater?

Wow 3years old at that size. I'd like to know what he was fed to get him that size that quick. definitely one of the biggest NTT that have been around.

Yup full fresh, he didn't die because of that though.

That happen to me when i got 2 NTT. first one died from breathing hard & twitching. second NTT did the same But i did WC everyday with prazi pro and salt. Survived then died from dat pimples...

You should of cut him open to see if he had any rocks or blockage inside. I did that to one of mine and found this mass of powder inside of mine. Half a dollar size. I cut it open and it was dry, powdery, and man did it have a funky smell. I made a thread on it.... He acted just like yours before it died.
