Well you see the Red devil was stressed from the torture of being stuck for an hour last night.
Predator fish can tell when another fish is weak from stress and they attack the weak one. My pacu has been raised with this mean ass red devil and actually would fight back with him. You would be surprised how mean my pacu is. He chewed ( i think ) the face off of the RD.

A cichlid's mouth is used not only to eat, they use them pretty much as their hands (moving rocks, fighting etc.). That's like you loosing your face and your hands.

A special diet? For no mouth...
They don't have prosthetic mouths for fish. He would have died slowly.

anyway everyone knows he did the right thing. that rd will slowly die on that state he found it in.
