Here's a quick photo update for this setup. The plants are looking happy enough.

I wanted to get a couple of pictures side-by-side to show how this tank has grown in since I replanted it with the current layout.

This shot here is dated 1 June 2010.

And this is the quick FTS from last week, dated 27 August 2010.

Gorgeous setup! I've learned a lot about ripariums just by going through this thread. I'm considering setting one up for my male convict cichlid and some schooling fish.

All the pics you have posted are AWESOME! Totally jealous of the set-ups and your green thumb...
Where did you happen to get the planters/trellis rafts? Sorry if you already answered this! I'm thinking about setting up a 75g brackish and these looked like a great fit for wanting plants at the water line...

Keep up the amazing work, tanks like yours are what keep me interested/fascinated by this hobby!

Thanks so much! Those planters and other accessories are all manufactured by Riparium Supply.

Ripariums are a fun kind of aquarium with especially compelling features for fish displays. Unlike regular planted tanks, they do not require CO2 injection or lush plant growth and it is generally easier to manage algae in a riparium. There is a real good new Ripariums sub-forum over at AquaticPlantEnthusiasts.com and you ought to check it out. Here is the link...
