Ripariums for Plant Filtration

Here's another quick shot showing the two really cool plants that I have in that 50G.

The arrowhead-shaped leaf shooting up is new (yay!) growth on the Lasia spinosa. The larger green plant to the right is the true species peace lily that I started from seed, Spathiphyllym phryniifolium. I think that plant is more handsome than the hybrid peace lilies that they seel as housplants. It will grow up big too.

That doens't quite directly apply to aquariums but that is a neat concept.

Why not- it'd make your horizontal riparium vertical and add plenty of space for roots & water to get together. Modify the idea and use a tower of course open-cell sponge sunk in your sump, with water dribbling through it from the top. Groovy.

I got a quick picture tonight of my 56G riparium setup. The fish were all hiding but they are doing well in there. The plants are looking good too.

Finally I got water, gravel and hardscape into the 37G setup. It looks pretty good. I have pictures too and I'll try to post some up later tonight.

I have a question: I have a few anubias and cypress helferi that are currently in a planted setup, also some cryptocorne, like wendtii and parva. Could I convert them to a riparium type setup emersed? Or would they react badly...

I have crypt wendtii growing emersed in my terrarium. It's growing great.
