So I find someone on craigslist seeling a 5 gallon bucket of "aquarium pea gravel" and "aquatic plant soil" so I get him to come over and he gives me the gravel and the soil. the soil he bought form lows for I'm guessing $10 which is fish safe. BUT i though it was a different $30 brand. and the pea gravel is from lows. so instead of paying $30 on gravel and $30 on soil i spent $30 for both. turns out the pea gravel was from lows for $4 for a 30 pound bag. so this jerk sold me something at double the price of what he bought new. and in my email I CLEARLY stated it was $30 and he said it was $10 for delivery so i spent $40 on something i woulda spent $20 on new. pisses me off. And im only 14 and i worked for the money. so i dont come across $40 often.

AHH THATS SUCKS I HATE WHEN PPL DO THAT

Schultz aquatic plant soil is the bomb!!!!

Bingo. This should be in the 'lessons learned' section. Lowe's comes in real handy when looking for substrate.

I looked at the rocks and they looked fine. but when he left and about an hour later upon further inspection I realize they didn't have the glazed look and werent smoothed. which doesn't matter cause my fish dont burrow but it doesnt look that awesome. and the substrate i thought was a good brand and was expensive like all the others. then i researched it and found out its cheap as hell. So at first glance it looked fine for about 45 min. and then i kinda started to catch on i was screwed over.

a great deal almost always is...
