im 30 and i still work for my money.. i also dont have a $2000 tv... so i dont feel bad for you...

I never said I had a $2000 tv. I live with my single mom in a suberban area with my little brother my mom is working 2 jobs to pay the bills, my step dad is in jail, and my real dad is $27,000 behind in child support and I'm trying to find a job but i cant because nowhere is hiring 14yos so I had to work under the table with anyone in my neighborhood i could find. my fish tank is my only entertainment. There is a much larger story to my familys money problems. I was saying money is scares and hard to find for an adult, let alone someone my age. All i was saying is money is hard to get. So im not saying "o wow is me" im saying this sucks. so thanks for opening ur mouth. On a better note, where can i get shulz aquatic soil locally?

that sucks, i always look for the best possible deal. Fish keeping is great but it can be pricey.

Who pays $30 for a lamp and $40 for a cell phone?

i feel bad for you because this guy did a similar thing to me but the only person i could blame was my lack of knowledge when i first started.......The story is he has a ad on CL about a few powerheads, 2 canister filters, filter pads, crushed coral, plants, heater and a few other things and he says all for only 40$$$$$ what a steal right? When i met up with him about 40 min away he was late for another 30 min so my dad was mad:irked:he shows up and says "o the guy who picked up the tank took some of the stuff here is whats left", so im here thinking wtf you sob...and what was left were 2 canister filters and some a burned out heater. i was thinking w/e 2 maireland canister filter(REALLY old kind, it just had some short ass tubes so i would need new ones) is still worth it. So my dad generously buys me some tubes for the filter one day and i fit it in and try it on.........the filter was missing o-rings and is leadking and doesnt work the like is messed up small leak in the canister one of the motor pumps were broken and both of the canisters didnt work.. i was really mad..... if i find that person i would :irked: not only did he rip of a little kid, he made my dad mad at me for waiting, wasted more money on buying tube, i found out i just spent 40$ on a pile of S*** it also got my stand and carpet all wet.......

What does opening a book have to do with prices? I see lamps for anywhere from $10-$50 all the time and cell phones that are $20-$150 so i don't see how the price can be either large or small. It's in the middle. I don't have a cell phone or a lamp in my room, so i wouldn't know. I'm not a price genie.

Caveat emptor

write it off in your head as an educational expense and move on,if you learned the lesson it was worth it.

^this. take it on the chin and move on. at least you will be a little bit wiser for next time. most, if not all, of us have been ripped off at some point because we were young and naive. i do feel a little bad for you because i remember how precious my money was and how hard i worked for it at your age.

know this though, similar things will likely happen to you a few more times until you get good at spotting them and gain the confidence to refuse payment if your not happy or at all unsure. its a part of life.
