Hey everyone I just wanted to say that I really enjoy this site. The huracane Rita is coming my way and Im not evacuating for many reasons. Right now I m really sad cause I know I will loose all my fishes and tanks, however I m just praying I will be ok. Like they say in the news, my town is not going to be affected as much as some parts of Houston, however everyone of my friends that live close to me had evacuated. Me and my family probably will stay without electricy for 2 to 4 days so plz be praying for me and my family.
Anyways I love you'll MFKs.

That's bad. I wish the best of luck to you and your family.

 , good luck and be safe. Hope you and everybody in the area don't have to go through what those in the Lousiana/Alabama/Mississippi area had to go through.

I'm a few hours inland, and should only see heavy rain. I made the offer to another MFK-er, and will extend it to you as well, that if you'd like a place for you and/or your fish to stay, just let me know. It'd be easy enough to set up a quarantine tank or two, or put in dividers in some of the larger tanks.

C'mon down, y'all!

wish u all the best of luck
be safe!
come move here! we only have between 6-8 inch of rain a year!
i live in the desert! :naughty:

If it's not too late (doubtful), head out and get yourself a generator. Even a small one will keep your house basics (and hopefully fishroom) running. There is a male-male plug you can get or make, plug it into the generator and a household outlet, and your whole house will have a small amount of power. We do that here when we flood and loose power - it is enough to run the sump pump and keep water out of the basement.

Good luck and hang on!

/Kris

Anyone remember how 90% of Mississippi was without power for a week?

If you're in any sort of evacuation zone, LEAVE. This is a BIG storm, in which hurricane force winds extend 85 miles from the center, which means, 85 miles inland will feel hurricane force winds at landfall. Don't be an idiot or a hero, if you can leave, you leave.
