If anyone can upload it to u tu be that would be awesome coz i dont think we get it in Oz

I saw the episode about goonch last night. I like this show, I've set the Tivo to season pass, but after watching the episode about RBP's again, I noticed he portrays RBP's as man eaters and I don't think thats cool. Everybody keeping these fish knows that they aren't going to eat a person live. Even in the middle of a feeding frenzy they won't attack people. Just seems like hollywood BS to me.

The only prove they've found is that a small child (3 years old I think??) got dragged into the water. I can't remember if they actually saw those piranhas in action or what but I don't think a school of piranhas do not have the strength or need to drag any prey into water. I would still think is more of other predators' act and the rbps there just finished whatever left of the body. I'm sure a large catfish, cayman or anaconda could all pull that child underwater. those rbps will most likely attack only the dead body and ppl will think piranhas are the murders because the teeth marks. unless they mistaken that child as a small capaburra. In nature, anything is fair game and unless certain animal is targeting human only or on purpose, we cannot/should not qualify them as man eaters

The story that you are speaking of was about the three year old that fell into the water at the height of the dry season. He wasn't actually dragged in. By the time the grandfather and others were able to pull him out the child had been reduced to mostly bone. The people there say that this is the most dangerous time of the year for piranha attacks. He also proved that they are not the man eaters as hollywood potrays, but will dispatch animals in distress or bleeding.
