The amazon has the largest drainage basin in the world but in length , it like only 100 mile longer than the Mississippi. So i dont think its twice the size of the Mississippi river.
Wikipedia not a very good referance. any one who has a puter can edit/ type whatever they see fitt so the info can be very inaccurate.
as for the show river monster i watch one season of it. had some cool catches but i think he talks alot bs. lol
The show seems to really be aimed at the people who are uneducated on monster fishes who might otherwise view them as man-eating monsters that are always looking to eat people; they also are usually pretty good about including enough stuff for the fish people, though.
I found both Seasons 1 & 2 to be very interesting, and Season 3 is pretty good even though some of the fish aren't terribly monstrous.

ahahah ok whatever man... but the mississippi is bigger then 768 mile... it like more then 2000
umm just saw that even in the link u provided by wikki shows that the amazon only 94 mile bigger.... look at the chart of river by miles on the bottom of the page
I see a reference to the Nile Vs the Amazon and 100km, but not the Mississippi.
Even on this link http://www.nps.gov/miss/riverfacts.htm which includes both upper and lower MIssissippi, the difference in length is over 1600 miles. where do you get your 94 miles from?
whatever:
from your link.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rivers_by_length
scroll to the bottom where it shows the chart of the rivers by length. amazon is #2 on the chart and the mississippi is #4. look at length in mile.
lol and this new link you just posted states there only a 290 miles differance.... are u even reading what u post....hahahahah... it all good
this from the link you just posted .... When compared to other world rivers, the Mississippi-Missouri River combination ranks fourth in length (3,710 miles/5,970km) following the Nile (4,160 miles/6,693km), the Amazon (4,000 miles/6,436km), and the Yangtze Rivers (3,964 miles/6,378km).
lol also u just showed that wiki can be wrong too.... lol
