RO continus water change

I don't have chloramine in my water, they do sell and additional filter for that, plus a test kit for it. So no I don't have ammonia problems. I guess the theme here is know your water. My point is I don't like RO/DI for fresh because it takes to much out IMO and changes the PH, I don't like having to mess with my water parameters all the time and that's not good for the fish too.
 
had the idea of mixing RO 40% with 60% tap water with a chemilizer/dosmatic continually so i could set a drip system AND lower my ph this mainly my goal. hw hard could it be?
 
You don't want to do a drip system with RO, because like already stated, it is completely pure water with no minerals, and fish need some minerals for osmoregulation. You will deplete all of the salt and minerals from their body, which is pretty much a necessity for most advanced organisms, including the bacteria in your filters.

The other issue is that pH will fluctuate, which is not only bad for your fish, but will effect the efficacy of your biological bacteria.

If you use RO you will need to add minerals back with something like RO right and also something to buffer and maintain the kH, which would necessitate dripping it from a garbage can or container that has already been mixed. Kind of defeats the purpose of a drip system, which is ease of water changing. Unless you have contaminants in your tapwater there's no reason to use RO.

So your best bet is a carbon block to eliminate chlorine. You can usually find these somewhere like Home Depot. RO filters also usually have one of these as part of the system, so you may actually be able to just use the one on there if it's removable.

For some people with tapwater that already doesn't contain much chlorine (you can get a test kit to see what level yours is at) they just drip slow enough that chlorine dissipates quickly enough that the water in the tank never contains a significant enough amount to matter.

The most worrisome figures I see are the 2500 conductivity, which is awfully high, and .5 ammonium (which may also mean you have chloramines). You do have some copper, which is an issue for some sensitive fish, like rays.

The pH state 6.5-9.5....that's a big difference. Does your own tapwater actually fluctuate significantly out of the tap?

A carbon block isn't going to fix those issues, so I wouldn't recommend a drip system with just that.
However, you still can't drip pure water directly from a good RO/DI unit. But you may have luck with just a DI filter (kind of like ths http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4395+4418+4484&pcatid=4484 , not sure on quality, haven't used it) and carbon block.

Otherwise your best bet may be to premix RO/DI water with RO Right and an alkalinity buffer, which would also prevent an pH fluctuation problems you may have.

In that case your water looks fine and a carbon block would be sufficient.

What kind of fish are you keeping? Unless it's a species that requires special parameters, or you need them to spawn, I don't see an issue.
 
It is new tank set-up haven't decided exactly what I am going to keep in the tank yet.
