If your looking for an easy way to change water, hook up a hose to your tan with the opposite end aimed at the garden or toilet and empty tank water that way...

Then just hook up a hose to your faucet or something and refill uour tank...

I agree and disagree, i would buy a python, it can connect to your hose or sink and suck water and fill water up, i know your tank is in the basement but you can get a really long hose for it, or connect it to a sink in the basement or conn a y adapter with ball valves to the inlet hose for your washind machine ( if you have one in the basemant) at least to fill up, were i disagree is filling straight to your tank, just use a rubbermaide bin and fill that up, then you can add prime or whatever conditioner you use and let it sit for a while to heat up like you planned, i personally use a 40gal rubbermaid bin with a pump in it, it curculates the water and i conn my python to the pump when i need it and pump it straight into my tank, if you dont have a pump you can scoop up the water in the bin with a bucket anything is better than lugging it down the stairs and spilling water all over.

RO water is "not" good for most fish, even discus keepers mix it with tap water. Discus and some tetras live in water, close to , but not RO.
The problem is that "pure" water can interfere with many fishes ability to osmoregulate.
The waste water from RO may actually be good water if you keep hard water fish, such as rift lake, or Central American cichlids.
