RO/tap water mix for vieja?

5 melanura and 5 black belts. All just juvie 3 inch size at the moment. Going to downsize the stock once they get a bit bigger and keep the nicer looking ones. Planning on just keeping 2 to 3 melanura and 2 to 3 black belts depending on aggression and all that, and will then be transferred to a 300 gallon

How many Vieja are you talking about? Just a melanurus and a BlackBelt? You have some other Vieja growing out, too?
I have 5 melanura, 5 maculicauda, 6 true parrots, 6 winemilleri, and 5 sajica currently growing out in my 125 all juvie size so ya way overstocked. Getting rid of all the south Americans though

I use 100% RO water for all my tanks, mostly CA cichlids. I kept the Vieja in my avatar in this water as well. I put some of a product called "equilibrium" in, not much though, and a little bit of aquarium salt. Id think you'd be better off going all RO, as Rajun said the mixing is a huge PITA
