filterguys is a great place but I feel from owning there filter and one from airwaterice that it is a step above not to take anything away from filter guys though.

I am about to purchase a unit from filterdirect.com. Have you guys had any experience with them?
They carry a couple of different brands, I was looking at a model from "water general".

I like this model becuase it has two outlets, and a water storage canister for drinking water. My tap water tastes like dirt. I also have a big resturaunt/gas station grade cappucino machine that gets tons of scale inside!
All sounds good, but it doesn't say GPD.....

From previous reading I was under the impression even the cheap units would perform the same, but after some more digging I found this to not be the case. The reviews were mixed on the unit I listed (Water General), while I have heard nothing but good things about the typhoon models (airwaterice).

The other good thing to point out is that the typhoon uses vertical (preferred) DI chambers, not horizontal like that Water General unit. I also like the clean filter housings on the tyhpoon as well.

I have no experience with RO units, but when it comes to some things, you do get what you pay for. I am going to invest ALOT of money into fish, plants, inverts, and corals, so the small difference in price upfront, (and long term upkeep) is worth it to me.

This is also a helpful thread, I want to buy a ro/di filter but know nothing about them.
How many times do you need to replace the filters?
