Ro water, to remineralize or not

I use water straight from the tap with no problems at all. I used to add chemicals to lower the PH but gradually reduced that till now I add nothing but Prime to the water, PH is around 8.0 now and my Discus are doing great.
I know some people who use RO and mix it half and half with tap water. that way you need not add anything.

Thanks for the info, with the help I've got here, it's a slow process to unlearn everything I've been taught from the start.

I will still be taking it slowly, who knows with help, I may even get the planted tank I've always wanted! One step at a time...

Strange that I've had discus for nearly 3 years now with hardly any problems and now you are all turning me to the dark side

Still going, the only difference so far is that the blue turks seem to be showing a little more color and there seems to be less waste in the tank, not sure if this is connected or not?
