Roach colony has spiraled out of control!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As stated drop the heat to 75 and the colony will slow down. I had my colony at that temp and wondered why the colony wasn't growing. I raised the temp to 95 and boom, babies everywhere.

I only feed the adult males to my bearded dragon and tarantulas. Keep the females to produce.

There is a guy who sell Dubias at our reptile swap. He wants $1 a piece for nymphs. That is way too expensive. I have never seen him sell one. I would guess 80 cents per adult would sell.

Yeah I'd probrably sell them 10 for $8. If I do good then I'll leave the temps up and just sell the extras off.

sell them a little cheaper than the other roach sellers at the swap and you'll start to get a ton of business.

What if I wanted to sell male and female combos for thos ewho wanted to breed them ?

Try ebay. Theres a pretty big market for livefoods on there, atleast on the UK site, so you could check to see how much they're selling for, and offer them for less to get them sold? Not exactly a steady income, but it's some extra cash.

How do you keep them? Egg flats?

I have them in a 70gal tall fish tank, wrapped with felt paper to keep the light out, along with egg crates and a infared heat lamp. I have some heatpads, but my reptistat crapped out on me recently, so I can't use them at the moment. I think they prefer the heat pad over the infared lamp. Because even with the lamp being infared, it still emits light, which they don't like. They prefer total darkness.

I'll try ebay see what's hitting.

lets see some pics ,been thinking of making a colony but my gf hates roaches.
