That's because there are plenty of idiots out there that think every turtle is a snapping turtle.

or just idiots who think its a form of hunting. and who hunt. really makes me mad how ignorant people can be. today we had "Walkathon" and everyone was freaking and laughing out cuz someone stepped on a worm. It was injured, but not too badly.I picked it up and took it off the field, despite the screaming girls.

I was driving this summer and saw a woman intentionally hit a turtle on the road... I couldn't believe it, actually steering towards the thing to kill it.

Here in Minnesota we eat good size snappers. One time my grandma hit a deer and we took it to my uncles to make it into meat.
