That's it!....epoxy,don't know why I couldn't remember the word.

I would repair it.Get an old hood and cut a plastic strip from it and glue it to the brace..I said glue but there is stronger stuff you can get but I can't remember what it is called...I've seen it in auto parts stores and it comes in a syringe like tube with two kinds of substances that you mix together before applying.
2-part epoxy eg araldite

^So what do you think, would that be better than silicone for mending his tank brace?

I can't see silicon doing much of anything on a plastic brace. I'd get some marine grade epoxy from somewhere. I believe I found some at a hardware store, but I'm not sure. Been ~8 years.

Also, stick a wood clamp on that tank if it's full of water until you've repaired the braces. It'd be a shame to pop a seam.

Yeah I found some good aquarium epoxy that I can use I have my friend working on the hood currently. Gotta do some plastic cutting today.

Cut off the broken plastic and do a euro-brace?

That piece of glass should be plenty cheap, plus you will have silicone left from the reseal. You were going to reseal right?

I was thinking about it, I have never done a reseal before but I'm sure it's not to hard to figure out, the tank holds water and is in good condition inside it doesn't even look like the silicone was damaged at all it may have been resealed recently. No scratches on the glass just messed up plastic lining around the edges and the brace. The glass top I'm getting for free custom cut just gotta get some plastic hinges.

Let it sit full for a good week...no leak,no need to reseal lol. Most of my smaller tanks in the size range of your find were pre owned throwaways and have had no water issues after being in use with me for a few years.
