Ive loved these fish soo long and if i can get this 90g on craigslist i would stock them 1st. So where would i get rock bass? there not stocked in any local lakes i know of
I could go out and catch a handful on almost any given day in the rivers here in Ohio, not too sure about GA. I've never seen any for sale at of the hatcheries I've looked into
They are not stocked in any lakes as they live in moving waters. I've never seen anyone selling them and you will probably have to rely on someone sending you one. From what I've heard they don't make the best aquarium fish but as you said, they are neat looking fish and I enjoy catching them especially around this time when they are in spawning conditions.
what about them makes them a bad aquarium fish? is it b/c they live in rivers b/c my friend caught one in lake candlewood in conneticuit and i dont think theres any rivers connecting to it and this fish was a good size
No I live in wisconsin sorry I kept him in a thirty gallon while I had him and he started out maybe 4'' and grew to maybe 7'' in the 6 months I had before I traded him to my buddy who still has him in his 55 he ate about 4 fathead minnows a day in 79 degree water.
Im pretty sure hes a rock bass we dont have warmouth here he moved around quite a bit and as I said alot of personality he begged for food and knew me from other people not a shy fish at all
i think im might just go w/ a mix of natives from sunnies, to rock bass to crappie. i was looking over craigslist and saw some deals. can you guys help me to find the best. sorry this is a bit off topic
