Ok I'm gonna get a few rbp, and I just bought a 20g long aquarium, and I'm wondering if getting like a sand bottom of the aquarium would be harder to clean or be more of a hastle than just original rocks. It wouldn't be sand, but a little bigger. What does everyone think? O and don't worry about the p getting to big for the tank. When it comes to that, I'm gonna give them to my bro who has a 55g that he just bought. He has 2 rbp, the 3rd died recently for unknown reasons.

Sand is amazing for tanks, dont get me wrong, but it is a HUGE hassle when cleaning time comes along because you have to angle the hose just right and pinch it so that the sand cant' fit through. I would go with rocks, unless you're willing to put in alot more work. Also, as far as putting your p's in with your brothers, be careful becuase its best if they grow up together cuz they may get territorial in just a 55 gal. and kill off your p's.

Either way.. U'r goan have dead fish. So i suggest you save up and get your own tank . As said b4, sand looks great but a lot of your good filters will suck up the sand when your p slams into the ground b/c it was spoked. With any kind of bottom you do decide to get I suggest that every 2nd day you should move the rocks or sand around with any long plastic stick or the butt end of your net so that none of the food settles and you have less cleaning to do. DO not mix your P's . Hope this helps
