I will say that you can use glass and just cut a piece of pvc and put over the heater. This is what I do! Drill hole's in the pvc and whala! there you have it Peacock bass proff heater.
 
I just use titanium heaters. But now the big tank has its 3 heaters in the sump so it really doesnt matter, but I still use titanium anyway. Lost a very cool hand tamed bullhead catfish to a shattered glass heater. Caught it wild as a fingerling and grew it to about 12 inches. Took food from my hand and would come to the surface to be rubbed. I was bummed when he got fried.

The three 500w in the 350g are Blue line I think, running through a Ranco controler. The 300w in the other tank is a ViaAqua with external controler
 
My P-bass have been pretty good around my heater, i try to keep it on an angle, but they still bump into it, when there avoiding my 8 inch Pleaco during his nightly feeding search......good luck
