I hope you enjoy your fish. I wish so much that I could get central americans, especially Vieja, but they're prohibited here. I reached out to the local Department of Environment here to make a case for the importation of Vieja Synspilum, but to no avail. It appears that basically most cental american cichlids remain on prohibited list, besides convicts, HRP's, and a couple other smaller species.

Nope, not synspilum. He's a marbled fenestratus. I loved him so much that I bought 4 more juveniles when I unexpectedly came across them in a local store at the beginning of the year. They're growing out with my heterospila. Hoping I'll get a pair out of them.

Oh man I'd be crushed! Centrals have always been my favourite. That's awful, time to move! Lol.

Well tlindsey u might be right..news for you sinister ….the “marbled” fenestratus is a mix of synspilum and fenestratus not to be confused with the pure ob variant from catemaco..

You're literally the only person I've ever seen that claims that. They're line bred fenestratus, not hybrids, according to literally everything I've ever read except your posts.
