Gotta love the trolls lol either way that's a gorgeous vieja, I'd like to get marbles at some point but my wife isn't a huge fan of the pie bald look in fish; snakes on the other hand......
OMG piebald snakes are gorgeous!
There's really no animal that I don't like the "marbled" look on. Most of the piebald morphs for any fish species are my favourite over the "usual". I have two merle dogs. Paint horses are my fav. Piebald snakes, as mentioned...lol.

Don't mind the other dude... For the last decade he has been growing more and more senile on here, first it was calling Jeff Rapps himself a fraud for selling a fish he never heard of, then it was not believing that wild HRPs were black in spite of seeing pictures with GPS coordinates of the original collection points attached to them, etc, I'm probably missing a bunch but you get what I mean
He’s certainly not the only one. I have followed this strain and story since the first post made about them online.
Picked up some Marble Veija Fenestratus juveniles
Saw some white convict looking cichlids with odd patches on them. Then I asked the shop owner and found out they were Marbled Veija Fenestratus. After researching online, I had to get some! I have several adult Veija in an outdoor pond. So I can just imagine how striking these will be in...

He’s a stunning fish, and I have nothing against hybrids per se, but that line bred story is a bunch of hoo ha with zero evidence and certainly no provenance back to the wild. Back to Thailand would be more probable.
Another stunning CA cichlid with provenance back to Thailand. Yet most members were drooling, and just assuming it was an exceptional specimen. lol

Hybrid strains of cichlids created in Asia started with African cichlids 50+ yrs ago. Years later, as CA cichlids, and flowerhorns became vogue, they too
got designed, for lack of a better term. Designer fish sell - take a nice fish, and make it nicer. This is all fact. For anyone old enough to remember, and had first person access to these breeders. Fact.
In the link above posted here on MFK, the OP even admits that the LFS owner told him that the marbled fenes came from Thailand. Hello. lol
I'm not saying that miracles can't happen, but I tend to weigh the probability of that happening, vs something that I know for fact has happened many times over, for several decades, in Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, China, etc. and then weighing the evidence in a rational manner.
