I've had this King Kamfa female over 18 months. This is the closest I got with her:
I've had her with a female first gen red Texas. She laid eggs for her. Weeks later the red Texas laid eggs. Bother were about 4 inches big in a divided tank. Later I kept her with her brother seen in the video above. That was the 3rd time I saw her lay eggs.

4th time in December with current male 11 inch Midas. She didn't lay eggs for him she was just desperate to lay eggs.
The ph was 6.3 about 2 months ago. I thought it was too low and have since kept it above 8.0.

How do I bring the ph back down? What is a good temp for a Midas (that has bred in 75 degree water) and a flowerhorn? In the video above I kept the water at 82 degrees.

Some females oddly won't just hook up with a male just like that. I tried that and my female is pretty set on one male only. I tried for months with another male and tried again with another and nothing. I put her old bf in and bam next day in the pot laying eggs. Its trial and error. Once established pair its hard to get the female to get to another male. Its not impossible and many do it but it can take some time.

Males are not picky I had a male fertilize like 3 females at once.

I have the opposite right now for a breeding project. Fader kamfa flowerhorn with a "midevil"

I thinned out my cichlid collection and they paired off quick and bred. On the third day the eggs were gone but this is their first attempt so not worried. I tried to take the pot out but he went nuts after me and the net so I decided not to.

Nice Kamfa and Midevil!!! Have u got the desired result??? pls do update!!!

Is that so female would keep touch with a particular male????
Every fish is different. Its trial and error. I've had females who paired up with other males and I had females who never wanted to do anything with breeding and others who only liked their partner.

What I noticed is that my Male fader flowerhorn has tons and tons of midas/rd in him and he picked a partner that was along those lines which was a midevil. I've had plenty of females for him to choose from but he chose her. I thought that midevil was a damn male I grew it out from an egg and was the biggest one and acted like the alpha male. Turned out it was a female. His father I got rid of 15.5" PURE bred F1 Midas. 6 years + with over 15 batches of fish and over 13000 fry easily I had to get of him. He killed his gf F1 female red devil since she was done breeding I guess. He kept bashing the tank and splashing water and biting me and what not lol

Why not a female parrot with the male u have??? it would be a nice outcome ....:)
I wasn't even planning on breeding these this is in my community tank. I have a female bonsai Flowerhorn for a project but she's sticking to one dumb male who eats the eggs lol

The eggs on the fader Flowerhorn and Midevil are currently eaten probably in 2-4 weeks lay again and see if I can take out the pot for them.
Wasn't a lot of eggs but first time she's breeding she's about 8 months old

But u may use a divider, so that the eggs can be saved from other fishes..

I think at this stage she would have turned aggressive like anything and she might started to thrash her tank mates apart from your male ,so i think a divider may be useful...
