any one have any info on Rope Fish breeding? can it happen? My Girlfriend and i bought a new Rope last week and they have taken to each other very well. i was wondering if there would ba able to breed?

Chances are they are just playing around, rope fish get active and play when there are more then one in a tank. get another and they'll be even more playful.

however on breeding them, i've never heard it done, so i'm not too much help for ya there.

Mine are really playful with each other but as far as I know none have been bred in captivity. Some speculate there is some trigger in nature that causes them to breed.

I used to have one that that would eat shrimp chunks, silverside chunks, earthworm pieces, etc. from my fingers. I always hand fed him because the other fish ate the food before he could find it.
I left the lid open one night and found him on the floor the next morning.:(
I'll get another or two again. Really neat fish.

I feed my in a corona bottle :) Cichlids can't get to it then. They sleep in the bottle if the cichlids or plecos bother them.
