Rope Fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two of them. I feed them blood worms because they go nuts over them!!!! The most important thing about rope fish is that they are escape artists!!!!!!!!! If there are any gaps in the back of your tank you need to cover them! I keep a rag laying over my opening and that is enough to prevent them from slithering out.

Treat them as you would ay polypterid. Most importantly see the above post, you may consider covering your filter outakes with a a bit of fiberglass screening too.
As for food bloodworm, blackworms, eatrhworms,a good quality pellet and feeders either rosie red(albino fat head minnows) or guppies that have been properly quarantined.
water temp high 70's low 80's
tank idealy should have fine gravel or sand substrate
size in the wild 30 inches have been recorded,in home aquaria 15-20 inches is more likely-Anne

She said it all. lol. I like them alot.

I have two and they are very fun to have, my 10" rope will take frozen food from the surface. He used to take food from my hand but he would sometimes miss so i dont do it anymore.

Never had them trying to escape though.
