both fish will tend to try and eat anything that can fit into their mouths. If they are roughly the same size, it won't matter- either way or both at the same time. Rope fish do well with other ropefish, and enjoy the company- i've had a ropefish and bichir together, and they used to hang out all the time. same with a fire eel-they always curled up together.

Oh really?
Jeez, that might be something to try and do. But, I've got to try and see if my LFS can order me a Ropefish, because here in NC I haven't found any place that sells them. Just Senegals.
Thanks for that information!

Shane,

I currently have 2 senegals and a ropefish in my 80 gallon with a bunch of small fish.
I started the tank with small tetras, corys, mollies, than added the ropefish when he was about 1 foot. When he was two foot I added a 3 inch bichir. The bichir grew to about 8 inches in a few months, so I bought him a 9 inch albino girlfriend a few weeks ago. I keep them well fed and they haven't gone after eachother or the other fish, except when I first put the albino girl senegal bichir in (within the first few minutes she ate one of the mollies). She hasn't eaten any of the other fish since then. All three of them hang out with the corys.

Uncertainy will always plaque our tank stocking decisions as they is no rule governing what eats what.
However from personal experiance bicher appetites while great, tend to not include tankmates over 4 inches, thus I would not worry to much about the order you put the rope and sengal in.
Attached are some images of when I introduced my sengal and ornate to my tank with my much larger delhezi, both have now grown out
