ropefish has soft white spots on body, bacterial infection?

I just bought a rope fish yesterday and today when I went into my tank it had these soft looking white spots on his scales, it almost looks like he is shedding (like how a reptile sheds) I think it is a bacterial infection but I don't want to start treatment without any idea what it actually is, someone please help as quickly as possible.

Could be from bichirbm worms. Heater burns? Get a heater guard. Would post pics and water quality.

my heater is usually off (i live in a fairly warm place so its not really needed), he unfortunately passed away a few minutes ago

Is this something I should be worried? I’m not sure, but it looks like shedding slimecoat? Like small like white spots
