Ropefish Minimum Tank Size and Suggested Minimum Number of Ropefish

I've been on reddit recently discussing the minimum tank size and the suggested minimum number of ropes. I know what I think but I'm wondering what you guys think

55g or bigger. I would get 4 atleast.

See that's what I was thinking a 55 gallon as long as you keep up on maintenance and I was thinking a minimum of 3 but the person I was talking to on reddit was saying 180 gallon and 7-8 minimum which seems more than a little overkill for the minimum. They also were stating a maximum of 18" which I know is possible if caught larger but realistically most will only get a max of 14" because they are 4-8" when caught in the wild

I'd say a good size and number 75g 4-6. Planted heavily. That'd be a great tank with a nice school of something "smaller". I think a 55 would be good length but width is a little narrow for my comfort.

yeah my thoughts were 55 as absolute minimum but yeah 75 would be better

I agree with 75 and 3 minimum, 4-5 better. Planted is definitely ideal for them.
