I sold off my collection of polypterus about two years ago and I have decided I need some back in my life again. I am setting up an odd community tank in my 90g. It basically has three parrot fish, clown loaches, and some other random fish including some fast dithers. What I need help with is what would be best to get: three ropefish or maybe two ropefish and a polypterus senegalus. Right now I think I can get hold of a five incher senegalus. I do not know of any shops right now that have the ropefish, but they always seem to come in every now and then around 8 inches. The reason I am leaning towards these guys is because I want something that is decently active. If anyone has any other suggestions please give them. Thanks

I'd try and go for 3 Ropefish because they do well in groups of 3+. They also do great in the temp range of 83 degrees F. I'd throw in the Senegal too.

Good luck.

everyone thanks for the input. Whats the reasonable price range for ropefish?
