ropefish or polypterus or both

I wouldn't go more than $13 per rope, I would keep a small group of ropes, and a bichir or two.

If I were you, I'd order a slightly less common bichir from rehoboth, like delhezi or polli.
 
Not sure on price...but I just wanted to say BOTH!
 
My Sengal Bichir thinks the ropes are his babies or is really lonely, I'm thinking...or he's being agressive in an odd way. He follows them round the top & bottom of the tank, lays on top of them and sleeps in their hole.
So thinking that would be a good combo? Never had any fights or loses.
 
thought I would share an update. I guess I kind of got things backwards. I have three small polypterus senegalus now and one rope fish. Hopefully two more ropes are coming in for me on wednesday.
 
i love my rope fish and bichirs together..always active ..
 
With the senegals should be fine. Had one with an ornate who chomped on him and killed him.
