If you can quarantine them for a few weeks, it'll be fine. Remember new fish tend to be carriers of many diseases so you don't want to risk your stocks on these issues.

here is a vid of mine one time when he decided to come out and play. he hardly ever does this unfortunately. Im getting him a female soon tho :)

i agree to some extent, they WILL eat anything they can catch and fit in their mouth. mine even attacked and killed my 4" bichir :( so i guess they can be territorial too to smaller bottom dwellers of similar shape? or maybe he was just having a bad day
mine ate 5 neon tetras ~1.5 in. within 12 hours lol

Very much so that they will eat whatever can if in their mouths, but my BGK and Goldvail Angelfish tend to eat all the feeders before anyone else can get to them, lol. Aside from that though, ropefish are sociable - so having more than one is always good for them. What's funny though with mine is that it never tries to hid, and likes to swim around the top level of the tank - the tank it's in though is eel proof, as one of it's tankmates is my Tire-Track Eel.

As far as water perams go;
temp: 73-79 F
ph: around 7 or below

Make sure they have access to the air surface though, as they do need to breath air
