Rose Queen and Texas

Sorry to hijack the thread but the male of the fry was a Red Texas cross. The Male in the picture with the Red Mammon female was a Carpintis and I have fry from them too but yonnger and not many of the ones I kept faded.

I bought him from a guy who bought him from Chris Barth. Was just glad he was fertile. Chris has had good luck with his RT crosses being fertile I think. My own fry from my various crosses seem to be very fertile also. Jack

A Red Texas is a byproduct of breeding a kamfa for more pearls.
Sorry for highjacking
Im just tired of seeing you guys fail!!! Lol

I have used Kamfa and Thai Silks with mixed results. It is not an easy project but when you get a nice RT it is worth it!

I know somewhere down the road I will have to use some type of FH in the project but wasn't sure. For some reason I was leaning more towards the fader. I have one month old fry from her now but they are crossed with red head so I was gonna use some of the fry from them in the project as well....what do you think Jack and Source?

Good genes to keep in the mix. Like source said you need something or someone to strengthen the pearling because all faders eat the pearls when they are crossed into the mix. In all my crosses so far the Male has been the RT cross or FH and the female has been the Red Mammon. With the Kamfa the male had great color but most of the fry just faded out. I need to do some more back crossing but just ran out of interest and put it on the back burner. Maybe this fall I will cross some of the fry from the various spawns with each other. Here is a fry from another one of the crosses with a Kamfa and Mammon
