just because your RT laid eggs a week ago, doesn't mean she'll just accept the new RQ male as a partner. That is the whole process of "pairing". That's like the guy who threw a male in the tank cause his female laid eggs, and she ate them lol. Just keep them in same tank divided until they start to show non-aggressive behavior. I guess with her being 5.5 that's not too small, but from the pics, she don't even look half his size.

I hope he is I currently have 2 male RQ both are paired with female RQs 1 has been proven fertile by a friend of mine but so far he hasn't fertilized anything for me yet
