We have two mature male fossies in a 210G tank and are growing out two more hoping for 1 girl.

Not sure how big your tank is but we have the 2 males in a 6' tank and at times I need a referee in there to split them up, 10 mature fossies are going to be a circus act methinks. They have broken equipment in the past on me. Thing is they were very docile until I added other female Haps.

Our dominant male colored up nicely starting around 5-6" and is 12"+ now 2-1/2 years since we got him at 1-1/2". The sub-dom male stayed female silver till 7-9" then colored right up and grew 2" almost overnight.

Great fish, you will never have a dull moment with them. ;)

Thas what I like best about these fish is the color males and females I also like the fact they get a good size to them. In our colony we found the male harassed the females less the more them we added but your right they hardly even look at other fish. We are still hoping to get them to raise some young they have held eggs 3 times now but ate them in a day or two think it was because they had some parasites. I read they can hold over 100 eggs is that true.

Yeah, stick a net in the tank or spook 'em with something they are not familiar with and my Big Guy will rearrange the scaping.

Nice fossies! What size tank are they in? Species only?

I have a group of 7-8 growing out in my 180. The largest male is about 8" now. I'll eventually reduce the size of the group to a 4-5 and put them in their own 125 with a deep sand bed and some Placidochromis or C. moori "followers."

Ours are in a 150 but I want to put them in 6" 180 we have 8 in this group and a pair in a 180 in our basement. The group of 8 have a pair c moori and 3 peacocks kind of a Malawi tank setup. I am hoping to get our male close to the max size of 16in I think that would be real neat.

It's pretty hard to find these guys. Plus, not a lot of people know how pretty they become.

I didn't know anything about them until I saw a 6+ in. at LFS. Had to have it even though it's out of my price range. Now he makes all my other Africans look plain.
