That rostratus looks kind of chunky, very nice fish.a large group of those in a species only tank would be nice.

Thanks, he or she is. Yes very chunky and around 7-8". Very greedy eater. A speicies only tank would be nice. This is definitely one of my favorite fish. It took a very long time for this fish to get to this size. I am still unsure of the sex.

Very nice rainbow
Is he an aggressive eater does he wait for everyone to attack the food and then comes in, mine seems to be very picky or just super mellow hardly see him eat

Thanks!
He's an aggressive eater too. Usually these two are the first ones to show up at feeding time.

Oh okay I'm assuming mine isn't top of pecking order bc he hardly eats and isn't as bright yours. Only half of his body is the nice yellow and the rest is dark like brown

What are his tankmates?
Mine is probably more like that because most my other fish stay at the bottom. The astyanax are usually the first and most aggressive eaters though.

nice fish, I'm looking for the orange variant of Rainbow Cichlids. I had the yellow ones. The ones that can turn mostly black during breeding also. Do they live anywhere else besides Costa Rica, Nicaragua ?>

Thanks, I love orange variety too. I don't believe anywhere else, but I read possibly the Honduras.
