The store I work just got a baby rosy boa in but he's being an *******.

Striking and biting.

The wholesaler said it's shedding so don't feed him anything but one of my co-workers said it's biting because it's hungry.

So, first of all, how do I handle that damn snake?

Second, would feeding reduce aggression?

We tried feeding it today but it'll simply constrict the prey and leave to there.

feed it not feeding it will anger it more and make it hungrey so u can stop feeding to get it hungry but it just get agetated. and rose boas are a agresive snake at times so be patient i had one it would bit me all the time i held it i ended up geten rid of it. hop it helps but i dont have great experience with them if i find anything i tell u

yes not feeding it means it will only get more aggressive. did u watch the snake while he ate. i have to ball pythons that wont eat with me in the room... all they will do is constrict it and kill it... they wont eat with me in the room, but when i give it to them and leave, they gobble it right down

Maybe try feeding it at night, throw it's food in before you leave for home, so it has it's privacy.
and there aren't any customers messing with it.

careful if you try the "throw prey in before ya leave at night" suggestion... a fair number of people have lost their snakes due to the rodent prey being left in with the snake unattended and the prey subsequently biting the snake out of defense and leading to the snake's death....

I'll ask do you guys feed in their cage? If you do they'll associate the cage opening as a feeding response. If not handle them (not like they're Gaboons:ROFL:) and you needn't have a Kung Fu grip on them either. Now if it were a 15 foot Retic I'd advise a bit more caution. Got a story with one, a chicken and a pair of Levis :naughty:.

he's doing fine now.

we don't feed snakes in their enclosures, we get them out in a box and feed them.

the rosy will still strike at you if you poke him from behind, but I can still handle him.

he's a PIG! lol eating a lot of pinkies.

we always knock the pinkies out before feeding, so no worries about the rodent trying to hurt the snake.
