we always knock the pinkies out before feeding, so no worries about the rodent trying to hurt the snake.
I wouldn't even bother to "Thump" pinkies since they ain't got no teeth
. After they become hoppers I might slow 'em down (if I'm not sure of the snake) but 90% of the time I'll just hold the tail down with a snake hook got me one of those small ones (more of a gimmick and gadget than anything). But after they're adults I'll PK them and hemostat wiggle to feed 100% of the time.
