Sorry, I did not mean to offend. I have not had much success breeding egglayers. I'm not even sure rosies are egglayers. In any event, I will check nitrates and buy less at a time. Thanks for the advice.
For what it's worth, they are egglayers and actually spawn in caves or under rock ledges. They are pretty east to breed but if you don't want to that;s fine, just a thought.
I would get a bigger tank, and buy the same amount. Get like a 29 gallon. It will easily hold 20-30 rosy reds. And it isn't much more expenxive to buy a 29 gallon. You can find people willing to give them away all the time.
