I recently rescued a 2.5 inches Rotkeil severum and placed it in a 65 gallons with my 4 inches female Dempsey. I had to put a divider in between because the JD was harassing the Sev.

My question is : 1) How long could they stay in the divided tank without stunting their growth or threatening their health. Each half of the divided tank is only 18 x 18 x 24.

I don't think the dimensions of the tank per se will put a stop to their growth, normally it's the bad water quality that stunts them. Small overcrowded tanks are more likely to have poor water quality and people end up blaming the size of the tank and not the lack of water changes.

A large divided tank won't have this problem because there's still the same volume of water circulating on both sides. Just make sure they can swim and turn around comfortably.
