Unless it's a luberifer but it doesn't look like it to me

lol I googled guianacara sp and there's many kinds i never even knew about these fish they are definitely some I'd keep in the future

They're pretty cool actually. Like the evolutionary step between Geos and Acaras.

I really like them. If they were brilliantly coloured I have no doubt they'd be one of the most popular cichlids in the hobby.

They're the fish you want to introduce to your Mom, even though you may not show them off to your friends.

This is my Rotkeil Severum that is about 5". I was expecting to see a lot more red by now. Is this indeed a rotkeil? Got it from uncle Ned's fish factory about 8 months ago

This doesn't look like a rotkeil. IMO it's a hybrid or a green (efasciatus).

Still a cool fish, but when I see them side by each it's clear they are different species. Both were bought from the same shop, labelled and "red shoulder severum", albeit about 6 months apart.

In the store I thought I was getting a fish that would look like my other one once it settled it. But I'm still convinced they're different. I don't know what the second one is though.

Your second fish is a mouthbrooding severum, Heros liberifer.
