Yea I bought one bc I saw a big one at my lfs that's beautiful and pretty big too so I bought a small one without research thinking in 1 yr giant lol

Definitely slow growers. Mine has gone from about 2" to 4.5" in a year and a half.

Had mine about 7 months and he's prob just grown .5 inch I

That's interesting, I've always liked them but didn't realise they grew so slowly, might get one for a long term 'project' then!

I just picked one up as well. only had him for about two weeks. His is only 1.5" to 2". i feed him zucchini and cucumber. he loves that stuff. he is in a 20g for now. will move to my 100 gallon in about a month. i also had no idea they were slow growers. Should be a fun project.
